1888 Morgan Dollar ANACS MS-63 The obverse and the reverse of this original Morgan Silver Dollar are very well struck and exhibit nice cartwheel luster over satin surfaces with very faint golden and orange peripheral toning interspersed with just a hint of lavender and blue toning. This toning is more pronounced on the reverse than on the obverse. The specimen exhibits good over-the-ear hair detail and good detail in the eagle's breast feathers, which is characteristic of Philadelphia minted Morgan Silver Dollars. This coin displays fewer than normal bag marks for its grade. This VAM-10 variety is listed on page 288 of the fourth edition of the "Comprehensive Catalog and Encyclopedia of Morgan & Peace Dollars" by Leroy C. Van Allen & A. George Mallis:
"Obverse: Date slanted with last 8 far from rim. Date lateral position is normal." 1888 Morgan Dollar Original Mintage: 19,183,832
