1982 Kennedy
Half Dollar ANACS MS 64 This Breen-5323 variety is listed on page 422 of "Walter Breen's Complete Encyclopedia of U.S. and Colonial Coins" by Walter H. Breen: 5323 - "Footless 1; no initials FG. The 1982 P coins lacking designer's initials FG (normally they show between tail and eagle's leg) come from a drastically repolished die. As obv. die is also repolished enough to efface base of 1 in date, most likely the occasion was removal of clash marks, comparable to the 1937 D Three Legs nickel."
"Most of these 1982's without FG were released by the Cleveland Federal Reserve Bank in Ohio and parts of Indiana and Pennsylvania."
